Black Turmeric - Curcuma caesia

aka Kali Haldi is a medicinal turmeric root from India. Its root has multiple uses. It has a 28% camphor oil content making it good for topical solutions. Bitter and strong, used best when mixed with other fruits or spices.

The plant is called black turmeric because of the dark black stripe on the midrib of the leaf.  It has a beautiful dark purple flower in late summer.
