Ice Cream Bean Tree Seeds- Inga
These are locally grown Inga Ice cream bean seeds. The edible white flesh is soft, creamy, and sweet. Very mild and pleasant. The trees are used in central and south America for shade in cacao, coffee, tea,and vanilla bean orchards. Tolerates wet soils. It has many uses, great in agroforestry and permaculture operations. The seeds are polyembryonic often sprouting more that one plant per seed. A fast growing shade tree, nitrogen fixing legume, that also has edible pods of these ice cream beans. Picture shows actual fruits. Not sure of the species or variety, probably Inga edulis.
