White Pear Guava Seeds - Psidium guajava
This variety makes large pear-shaped fruits. The inside is white and creamy, similar to a pear. Slightly sweet with strong guava flavors. When it ripens to yellow skin it has that great guava aroma. It can be eaten green skin too underripe when firm but lacks sweetness when green. Sweet and creamy when it turns yellow.
Seeds are small and edible in this variety. It has a small seed core with a relatively low number of seed. Great flesh to seed ratio. Grow it from seed to fruit within 2-3 years. Evergreen shrubby tree with very interesting bark and trunk. Grows in wet moist soil most productive in full sun but grows in shady situations also. Can flower multiple times per year and the honeybees love the flowers when blooming. USDA Zone 9b-11
